Further details and registration information can be found on the web site.
The circumpolar Forum on Sustainable Northern Shelter, scheduled for October 28-30, 2007 in Fairbanks Alaska, is the outgrowth of an alliance of private and public sector organizations that share the vision of bringing together the most outstanding minds currently addressing the challenges of constructing northern shelter and empowering northern communities to build energy efficient, sustainable, culturally and geographically appropriate, healthy homes and communities. Key note speakers and panelists from around the circumpolar north will address building sustainable and appropriate buildings and communities,
energy-efficient technologies and materials, building science, energy systems and alternative energy options. The desired outcome of the Forum includes the identification of a research agenda for the field of northern building and infrastructure design and technology, the development of on-going research partnerships, agreement on complementary and/or collaborative research topics and the wide spread appropriate dissemination of the information gathered.
The Forum will be web cast live and open to both synchronous and a-synchronous interaction. An announcement of how to access and participate via the Internet will be sent out when the details are completed.
