The Yukon Quest is an annual 1,000-mile (1,600 km) dogsled race from Whitehorse, Yukon Territory to Fairbanks, Alaska. This year, it comes with a twist: Envelopes with International Polar Year stamps issued by Canada Post are being carried by each of the 28 dogsled teams between Whitehorse and the midway point, in Dawson City.

These envelopes will be presented to the IPY Canadian national committee at the Yukon launch celebration for International Polar Year on March 1st.
