National Agency for Meteorology and Environment Monitoring of Mongolia
In 2007 the government of Mongolia, in connection with IPY, issued regulation #64, establishing a national IPY committee and approving a work plan. At that time the President of Mongolia visited our agency and officially opened IPY in Mongolia. In accordance to the workplan, we have organized an international water expedition jointly with Russia and Korea.
On behalf of the three countries, I made a presentation of our joint water expedition in connection with IPY on WMO RA II meeting in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Also, our young scientist visited Antarctica. We have organised an Ice Festival, developed a 10 minute movie on CD, etc.
