The Centers for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence-West (COSEE-West) would like to invite formal and informal educators to participate in an exciting online workshop, "Weather, Sea Level Rise and Climate Change," to be held this November 2008. This invitation is open to any educators who are interested in learning more about how scientists are studying climate change and its accompanying effects on our planet.
The online workshop environment will include "rooms" to ask questions of keynote speakers and to hold discussions with other educators around the country and the world. COSEE-West will also post supporting teacher resources in the online environment.

Dr. Yi Chao of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) "Changing Climate and the California Coastal Ocean"
Dr. Eric Rignot of JPL/University of California, Irvine "Glaciers and Global Sea Level Rise"
Dr. William Hamner of University of California, Los Angeles (emeritus) "Some biological oceanographic consequences of changing climate and global sea level rise"
Graduate credit from California State University, Fullerton: Participants may earn graduate level science credit from the California State University, Fullerton, for $90/unit. You must state your intent to enroll for graduate credit in the "Graduate credit" room online. Details for enrolling with Cal State Fullerton can be found in the "Graduate credit" room.
Deadlines: For those who would like to participate in the online workshop, you MUST be registered on the above website by the start of the workshop (November 3, 2008).
For those who would like to receive graduate course credit from Cal State Fullerton, you MUST be registered with Cal State Fullerton by Wednesday, November 5, 2008. All paperwork must reach Cal State Fullerton by November 5, 2008.
