Nine 9th grade (15 years of age) students and their teacher, Marge Porter, from Somers High School in Connecticut have just spent seven days (February 17-24, 2008) in central Alaska where they have been studying lake ice and snow, meeting local scientists and learning about Arctic research. You can learn more about their IPY experience, read their journals and listen to their podcasts here.
This activity was part of ALISON, Alaska Lake Ice and Snow Observatory Network, a member of the UArctic IPY Higher Education project cluster.
