For international polar year, the Académie des sciences realized a mini-website intitled "L'Académie des sciences dans l'histoire des expéditions vers les pôles".

It is composed of an introduction, the list of the French members and Foreign Associates who participated to scientific travels to North Pole or South Pole, 12 more documented files "carnets de voyage" for expeditions in which the Académie des sciences was strongly implied and of textes of living Members of the Académie (Susan Solomon, Yvon Le Maho and Claude Lorius)
