A. Uploading the photo to the web, using a free Flickr account.
- If you don't already have a Flickr account, you'll need to sign up at http://www.flickr.com/
- Log on to Flickr.com.
- Click on "Upload photos".
- Upload your photo using the default settings.
- Remember the URL (web address) of the photo's page on Flickr. It looks something like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/yourusername/987654321/
B. Placing the photo on the map using a free Tagzania account.
- If you don't already have a Tagzania account, you'll need to register at http://www.tagzania.com/
- Log on to Tagzania.com.
- At the top right of the page, click on "post" among the available options to place a new placemark on the map. On the next screen, select "point", not "route".
- Find the location on the map where you want to add your placemark, either by searching for a place name, typing in coordinates or zooming into it on the map.
- Add a (required) title for your placemark -- perhaps the name of your school.
- Add an (optional) text description -- perhaps explaining how the experiment went.
- Add the URL of the Flickr photo page to the "resources" field. You can add more than one photo, if you like.
- Important: Add "ipyday2007" to the "tags" field. This will ensure that your placemark shows up on the communal map.
- Be sure to click on the "save" button when you've entered all your data.
You have now placed a photo of your experiment on the map. You can see the most recent 200 photos of all experiments submitted by schools around the world below:
