IPY 2007-2008

March 2007 to March 2009 has been declared International Polar Year by the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Over 200 projects in 60 nations will conduct research and education in the polar regions. We will be discovering these icy areas through art, science, hands-on labs, and partnering with polar researchers. Visit the Ocean Institute this fall and winter to immerse yourself in the Arctic and Antarctic! Fall 2008 – Winter 2009 we will re-visit IPY and highlight what was discovered during this multi - year event.
