Description
Greenland IPY 2007 Space Science Symposium
"Transport in the Coupled Solar Wind - Geospace System seen from a High-Latitude Vantage Point" (GSSS-2007)
May 4 - 9, 2007; Kangerlussuaq, Greenland
THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT
Registration for the Greenland IPY 2007 Space Science Symposium is open and we solicit contributed papers on topics related to our understanding of solar -- terrestrial interactions at high latitudes. Papers that address theory, modeling, numerical simulations, and observations are solicited. A particular emphasis will be on interhemispheric coupling and global system dynamics. Another area of emphasis will be on Greenland observations, past and present, and the future role of high latitude measurement programs. The meeting will provide an opportunity for presentations from, and coordination between, existing and planned networks of ground-based instruments and space probes. Modeling results that indicate where there are specific needs for additional data acquisition to address scientific issues and/or to validate models are also particularly relevant.
Additional information and description of the developing program can be obtained from the GSSS-2007 Web site (http://www.GSSS-2007.org). The site is open for registration and lodging reservations. Abstract submission can be performed following registration. Limited transportation from North America is available on Air National Guard aircraft under contract to the National Science Foundation. European travel is possible via commercial aircraft. We encourage you to register early because participation is limited.
Additional information will be posted at http://www.GSSS-2007.org as the program develops.
