IPY 2007-2008

Lectures and short documentaries about Joseph Elzéar Bernier (Canada) and Giacomo Bove (Italy), two explorers of the last century looking for the North-West and North-East passages.

The events will take place at Casa del Conte Verde, Città di Rivoli (TO), Via Fratelli Piol 8, Toriono, Italy on May 12th, 2007, 18H00 -20H00.

Lecture of Prof. Gabriella Massa, Archaeologist Inuitologist – Coordinator of IPY for the - Provincia di Torino - Curator of the exibit “Inuit and People from the Ice” – Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali di Torino – XX Winter Olympic Games – Torino 2006, member of the Scientific Committee of the Museum Giacomo Bove.

“Giacomo Bove. Primo esploratore italiano a circumnavigare il Mare Glaciale Artico, dalla Scandinavia allo stretto di Bering: Vita, viaggi ed il suo “progetto Antartide”

Lecture of prof. Cesare Bumma, President of Associazione Culturale Italiana Torino, journalist, member of the Scientific Committee of the Museum Giacomo Bove.

“Ilititaa Bernier, his Men and the Inuit”
A short documentary produced by Association des Francophones du Nunavut and Dr. Stéphane Cloutier (Iqaluit,Nunavut).

“On the traces of GIACOMO BOVE”
A short documentary produced by the journalist and reporter Franco Guarino with the collaboration of Associazione culturale “Giacomo Bove & Maranzana”.
