Description
The Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographical Society, the Canadian Geophysical Union, and the American Meteorological Society are hosting a joint congress May 28th - June 1 2007, in St. Johns Canada.
Ellsworth LeDrew from the IPY Data Committee and colleagues invite submissions for the session on “Data Management and Communication in Canada for the International Polar Year.â€
The session, identified as ‘I06’ in the Scientific Program, is described as follows:
“Two significant data management and communication issues for the International Polar Year program are first, timely exchange of data between scientists, between projects and between researchers and Northern communities and, second, effective archiving of data for all projects that will provide a legacy for future studies. In addition to these and other issues identified by the IPY International Data Management Committee, the Canadian IPY Data Management Committee must address Canadian laws and cultural traditions.
This session will include invited papers from members of the International and Canadian IPY Data Management Committees as well as submitted papers from the CMOS, CGU and AMS communities. The session will focus on emerging data management and communication topics of interest to Canadian IPY members.â€
Abstracts must be submitted by February 15, 2007.
If you submit an abstract, please copy it to Ellsworth LeDrew at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
