Panel discussion: "The International Polar Year and the Importance of Understanding the Polar Regions of the Earth, the Moon, and Mars."
The main sponsors are the Space Studies Board (SSB) of the US National Academy of Sciences, NASA, and COSPAR.
The event will consist of a panel discussion and a keynote lecture given by Professor C. Rapley.
The event is part of a series organized by the SSB in the US to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the International Geophysical Year and the role of the latter in the birth of the field of space science.
The event in question will be held in Paris on 27 March 2008. We regret that because of limited seating the event will be by invitation only.
