The 7th Annual Meeting of the European Meteorological Society (EMS) and the 8th European Conference on Applications of Meteorology (ECAM), that will take place in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Spain, 01 – 05 October 2007. El Escorial is a beautiful town about 50km northwest of Madrid.
The EMS and ECAM are organising their meetings together for the fourth time. After a very successful conference in Utrecht two years ago, these meetings are established as a forum for the exchange of ideas on future strategies in meteorology. We aim at promoting a fruitful exchange of information on applications of meteorology and climatology at a European level between all parties concerned, national meteorological services, the research community, international organisations, environmental agencies, the hydro-meteorological equipment industry, private service providers and users.
The conference provides the possibility for exhibitions and you are kindly invited to participate in the Conference Exhibition, insert an advertisement in the Programme Book or have a flier inserted in the delegate pack.
The Programme of the conference includes:
- Meteorology and customer value
- Strategies for the future of meteorology
- Atmosphere and the water cycle
- Forecasting the weather from one day to one year ahead
- Climatology
- Meteorology and society
The theme of the conference is High Impact Weather.
